Hardik Pandya Commends Team's Performance

Jaipur (Rajasthan) [India], May 2: Following a decisive 100-run victory against the Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians (MI) captain Hardik Pandya expressed his admiration for the team's batting and bowling execution.

Pandya emphasized the significance of playing smart shots, noting how Rohit Sharma and Ryan batted with focus, effectively targeting the boundaries.

“We could have possibly added another 15 runs. We missed a few opportunities... Our discussion was centered around playing smart and effective cricket shots. The value of shots increases when you find the gaps; both Ro [Rohit Sharma] and Ryan maintained their intent and targeted those boundaries excellently,” Hardik Pandya stated during the post-match presentation.

He also touched on the concept of 'batsmanship' and MI's bowling prowess, saying, “It’s not just about giving chances; it’s about understanding the needs of the moment. Players are returning to what we call batsmanship, focusing on hitting gaps, running hard, and the way we batted was true batsmanship.”

“I can’t name everyone, but with our bowling attack and their experience, I feel secure. Everyone understands their roles, and we are simplifying our approach. It’s working for us, and we hope to maintain this momentum. We aim to stay humble, disciplined, and focused,” he added.

MI's bowlers, including Karn Sharma, Trent Boult, and Jasprit Bumrah, played a crucial role in securing a commanding 100-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) during their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. This win marked MI's sixth consecutive victory after a rocky start, having lost four of their first five matches.

RR was bowled out for just 117 runs while chasing a daunting target of 218. This victory was particularly significant for MI, as it was their first win against RR in Jaipur since 2012, breaking a streak of four losses. Boult and Karn both showcased exceptional bowling skills, each taking three wickets.
